How About The Weather
The smell of rain woke me up. Alone and
Thirsty, cold and tired, with a tinge of hope.
Maybe somewhere over the rainbow living is easy.
Pitter-patter raindrops splatter. Do the angels
Cup overflow or are they in mourning? Heaven
Must be bored, tired, and torn sometimes, too.
Mortal souls can sleep through a hurricane.
Hibernating bears, refusing
Springs sprinkling sprung.
I listen for doves to announce its over
Another lonely night past. They seem kinder
To deliver such news though some mornings
The crows beat them to the chase.
I heard rain aches the joints as a warning
Flood, blood, or fire may be
Just round the bend.
Whatever it means, I can swim,
Bandage, and douse. For now, I pray
To some day wake in the arms of a kiss
Less alone, full, warm, and rested
With nothing but love and my Heart.
